During a visit to the Shohola Management Area, the Conservation School students learned about banding ducks to aid in their management.  The ducks were first lured into baited cages.  The students helped remove the ducks from the cages (top).  While the students held the ducks, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service biologist affixed the bands (or recorded existing bands).  After the age, sex, and other data were recorded, the ducks were released back into the wild.
